An absconding suspect in the abduction and disappearance of 11 youths in Colombo, Chandana P. Hettiarachchi aka 'Navy Sampath' has been arrested by the CID.

He is also a suspect in the murder of MP N. Raviraj.

Police said that the suspect was arrested last afternoon on the Colombo Fort, Lotus road.
 
He was having a fake identity card bearing a name Polwatte Gallage Ashoka.
 
He was produced before the Colombo Fort Magistrate today and the Magistrate allowed the CID to detain Hettiarachchi until tomorrow for interrogation.
 
The 41-year-old suspect is a resident of Wellampitiya.
