A decisive Political party leaders meeting on Provincial council polls

Friday, 17 August 2018 - 16:31

A decisive meeting of political party leaders on the provincial council election is scheduled to be held next week.

According to political sources, a final decision about the exact system of conducting the election will be taken during this meeting.

A majority of political party leaders have agreed by now to hold the election under the old system.

However, few factions have demanded to hold the election after making changes to the system.

It is also reported that the delimitation report to be debated on August 24th would not be result-oriented unless all party leaders do not agree to hold the election under the old system.

Meanwhile, parliament sources stated that the report of the delimitation committee appointed nearly a year ago would be handed over to the speaker next week.
