Japanese Defence Minister arrives in Sri Lanka

Japanese Defence Minister Itsunori Onodera will arrive in Sri Lanka today for his first official visit to the island.
It will be the first visit by a Japanese Defence Minister to Sri Lanka.
The Defence Minister is scheduled to hold talks with State Minister of Defence, Ruwan Wijewardene and other government leaders.
He is also expected to undertake field visits outside of Colombo city.
The Embassy of Japan has stated that the hope is this visit will further consolidate the “Comprehensive Partnership” between the two nations.
