An unknown group has snatched away Rs. 1.2 million from a businessman near the Denipitiya Primary School in Weligama early this morning.

The victim has told police that three persons who followed him wanted to body check him and while doing so robbed his money and fled.
Weligama police have initiated an investigation and, nobody has been arrested yet.

Meanwhile, police are continuing investigations to arrest the members of the armed gang who robbed a bank at Parawahera in Gandara yesterday.

Police said a female bank customer who received gunshot injuries during the robbery was admitted to Matara hospital.

4 robbers snatched nearly Rs. 300,000 from the bank.
