A decision has been made to implement the gas price formula within the next two weeks.

Industrial and Commerce Ministry director, Indika Ranatunga told our news team that a special discussion in that regard will be held with the representatives of gas companies next week.

Earlier, Gas companies had demanded the consumer affairs authority to increase the price of a cylinder of 12.5-kilogram domestic gas by a minimum 394 rupees and other gas cylinders by a suitable percentage.

In this backdrop, the Finance Ministry and the Industrial and commerce ministry announced to introduce a price formula.
