Rupee further depreciates

The value of the local rupee dropped to a record low in its history today.

According to the Central Bank exchange rates, the selling price of a US dollar was reported as 162 rupees and eleven cents.

The demand for the dollar by importers is said to have been the main reason for the depreciation of the rupee.

Accordingly, the rupee was depreciated by 4.7% during this year.
