Kerala flood affected gets convoy of relief items bearing LTTE leader's picture

Tuesday, 28 August 2018 - 13:11

A caravan of trucks bearing flags that resembled the LTTE flag and a banner with the slain LTTE Leader Velupillai Prabhakaran’s picture on it were reported to have arrived in Kottayam, Kerala.

The trucks were carrying flood relief material.

According to the Manorama online, police had questioned the volunteers and sent them back as they realised they were members of the Tamil nationalist party Naam Tamilar Katchi which is led by Tamil Nadu filmmaker and actor Seeman.

The NTK members had off-loaded relief materials at the Armed Reserve Police Camp in Kottayam on August 25, prompting several officials including the Additional District Magistrate to make their way to the site.

They were questioned in detail at Kottayam East police station.

The materials they delivered were examined by the bomb detection and disposal squad and sniffer dogs.
