Colombo hospital's clinical waste to be removed

Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne says that the clinical waste piling up at the National Hospital, Colombo will be sent to the location where the clinical waste of Sri Jayewardenepura Hospital is using to be destroyed.
The Minister also said that a plot of land has been allocated from Muthurajawela to dispose of clinical waste being collected at hospitals in the Western Province.
He said that the Cabinet approved the move.
He revealed this after media reported of the issues faced by medical staff, patients and the general public as a result of clinical waste is piling up at the National Hospital premises.
