President Sirisena addresses BIMSTEC summit

President Maithripala Sirisena addressed the 4th Summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation this afternoon.
Here he said that the regional countries should work together to address the common issues of the region.
Meanwhile, President Sirisena met with the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Kathmandu this evening.
The Indian PM had said that he deeply appreciates the commitment made by the President Maithripala Sirisena to achieve reconciliation and sustainable peace while ensuring democracy and freedom in Sri Lanka.
During this cordial discussion with the President, the Indian Prime Minister extended birthday wishes to the President as his birthday falls on September 3rd.
