Another scam at CPC uncovered

Saturday, 01 September 2018 - 9:06

The trade unions at the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation allege that a scam is taking place at the CPC where fuel transporters are forced to pay money to get their bowsers released by the newly established investigating unit’s personnel.
They charge that the bowsers carrying fuel are taken into custody alleging the bowser owners have adulterated the oil and thereafter they are released after charging a substantial amount of money.
The trade union alleged that the personnel of the new unit appointed to carry out inspections are carrying out the racket.
The President of the CPC Branch of the Nidahas Sevaka Sangamaya Bandula Saman Kumara said that his union too had received complaints in this regard.
