7 arrested for damaging property at Galaha hospital

7 persons have been arrested over 3 charges including damaging property at the Galaha Base Hospital over the demise of an infant.

Those arrested are between 25 to 40 years of age.

The chaotic situation erupted at Kandy - Galaha hospital, following the death of a one and half year old child.

Crowds behaved in an unruly manner and were dispersed by police firing tear gas.

The immediate family of the toddler claimed negligence, accusing hospital doctors of failing to examine him.
