Flowers showered on funeral procession of Madush’s father

The Special Task Force has begun a special investigation looking into how a helicopter was used to shower flower petals over the funeral procession of the father of underworld gang leader Makandure Madhush.
He was killed in a road accident in Wadduwa recently and the funeral took place last Saturday at Embilipitiya.
As part of the tribute, flowers were showered from a helicopter, it was revealed.
The helicopter which belongs to a private firm was paid for by a credit card, by an individual named Dinesh, who is a resident of Kottawa.
Reports said that underworld leader Makandure Madhush, who is suspected of hiding in Dubai, had watched the funeral via video.
In addition, reports also state that a number of underworld gang members had attended the funeral.
As a consequence of rumours that Makandure Madhush would be attending the funeral, in Embilipitiya, police beefed up the security in the area.
