OMP interim report to be handed over to President today

The interim report of the Office on Missing Persons (OMP) is to be handed over to President Maithripala Sirisena today (Sept 5), OMP Chairperson, Saliya Peiris PC said.

The said report was to be given to the President on August 30 but was not handed over as Sirisenana was out of the country.

The interim report will incorporate details of the activities of the OMP, the progress made, and meetings that had been conducted since its establishment.

Peiris stated that the report also contains recommendations pertaining to interim relief that need to be provided for the affected families.
