Sampanthan and Wigneswaran to meet today

Opposition Leader R. Sampanthan and Northern Province Chief Minister, C.V. Wigneswaran are scheduled to meet today in Colombo.

Wigneswaran had recently written to Sampanthan urging the TNA to refrain from taking part in the meetings of the Presidential Task Force for the North and East.

However, Sampanthan had turned down the request.

Meanwhile, it has also been reported that a new political outfit named as the Tamil People's Alliance was to be formed due to the conflict between Wigneswaran and the leadership of the TNA.
