Wigneswaran appears before Court of Appeal

Northern Province Chief Minister, C.V. Wigneswaran arrived at the Court of Appeal today.

Wigneswaran appeared before the Court on a case filed by former Northern Provincial Council Minister, P. Deniswaran.

Deniswaran who was the Fisheries Minister for the province was removed from his position by Wigneswaran on allegations of corruption.

Deniswaran had then sought the Court's intervention to halt the decision to remove him from his position.

The Court ordered the Chief Minister to reverse his decision and reappoint Deniswaran.

The Court of Appeal had ordered Wigneswaran to appear Court as he had failed to fulfil Court orders.
