No team from Sri Lanka for Geneva Human Rights Council

The Foreign Affairs ministry stated that a team representing Sri Lanka will not be sent to Geneva, for the forthcoming sessions of the Geneva Human Rights Council.

A spokesperson from the ministry told our news team that officials from the office of Sri Lanka’s permanent mission to the UN in Geneva will be attending the sessions, while A.L.A Azeez who succeeded Ravinath Ariyasinghe as Sri lanka’s permanent representative at the UN office in Geneva will represent the country.  

Previously, a team from Sri Lanka attended the sessions.

The 39th sessions of the Geneva Human Rights Council will be held from the 10th to the 28th of September.

Meanwhile, two special reports will be presented on Sri Lanka during the sessions.
