IUSF+states+that+universities+are+not+sacred+sites

Convener of the IUSF Lahiru Weerasekara stated that, it is not surprising that the violence that exists in society continues to exist within universities.

He made this statement while participating at a press conference held in Colombo today.

He further stated that though there were widespread reports university students had died due to ragging, since the year 1998, no student had died as a result of ragging.

Meanwhile, The Lalith Athulathmudali Scholarship Fund states that students who are accused and found guilty of ragging will not be entitled to receive the Mahapola scholarship.
