Govt refutes claims that foreign nationals are settled in North

The Government has refuted claims that it had settled foreign nationals and foreign families in several parts of the country.

In a statement, the Government Information Department stated that there was no truth in claims made by members of the Northern

Provincial Council that the government had settled 250 Indian families in several parts of the Province.

However, it should be noted that 10,675 Sr Lankans who had fled to India during the war had returned in 2009.
