President calls for special cabinet meeting today

A special Cabinet meeting has been scheduled to be held at the Presidential Secretariat at 12 noon today.

All Ministers have been informed of this meeting. It is reported that the ministers were informed via phone calls from the Secretariat.

However, the reason to convene the special meeting is not known.

It should be noted that several ministers including Nimal Siripala de Silva, Mano Ganesan, Rauff Hakeem, and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe are not in the country.
