Former president speaks of his preference in India

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa has stated that remaining in parliament and obtaining the Premiership is a much better alternative.

During an interview with South India’s Thanthi TV, the former President has stated that the Prime Minister is vested with more powers than the President under the new constitution.

Thanthi TV had interviewed former president Mahinda Rajapaksa during his recent visit to India and the interview was telecast last night.

The Former President also spoke regarding the Indo – Sri Lanka fishermen’s issue.
