Wigneswaran contempt of court case to be taken up on October 16

The petition against Northern Province Chief Minister charging him and two other councillors of contempt of court will be taken up on October 16 at the court of Appeal.

The petition has been filed by former fisheries minister of the Northern Provincial Council (NPC) P. Deniswaran.

Deniswaran had also filed a petition requesting the court to halt Wigneswaran's decision to remove him from the ministerial position.
