Army Intelligence officer arrested over Eknaligoda abduction

The CID arrested the Lieutenant Colonel of the Army Intelligence Unit Erantha Peiris as he arrived at the CID to submit a statement.

The Colonel was questioned in connection to the case regarding the 2009 abduction of journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda and the abduction and rendering him missing in 2010.

The Eight suspects, which included four individuals from the Army Intelligence Unit who were earlier arrested in connection with the case, were released on bail after being produced before the Avissawella High Court.
