ETI depositors surround Colombo Municipal council building in search of Deepa

The ETI depositors surrounded the Colombo Municipal Council building and staged a protest against the ETI director and municipal councillor, Deepa Edirisinghe today.

A tense situation erupted when the protestors attempted to forcibly enter the Municipal Council building.

The protestors blamed Deepa Edirisinghe as she has cheated billions of rupees of their hard earned money while functioning as a member of the poverty alleviation committee of the council.

Meanwhile, our correspondent stated that certain councillors used offensive words at the protestors.  

Later, Cinnamon Garden police intervened to control the situation.
