DIG Nalaka de Silva appeared before the Government Analyst this morning to give his voice sample with regard to the ongoing investigations in connection with conspiracy allegations against him.

Our correspondent stated that DIG Nalaka De Silva arrived at the Government Analyst at 9.55 am and left the premises after 45 minutes.

However, he refused to talk to the media with regard to the incident.

The operation director of the Anti Corruption Brigade, Namal Kumara exposed a telephone conversation on a conspiracy to assassinate President Maithripala Sirisena and former defence secretary, Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.

Namal Kumara made charges directly at the then DIG of Terrorism Investigation Division, Nalaka de Silva.

At the same time, Namal Kumara said that an expatriate in France sent him money on the instructions of DIG Nalaka de Silva to carry out a sabotage in the country.

He also told police yesterday that the president of Sinhale Jathika Sanvidhanaya, Dan Priyasath was instrumental in creating a dispute between him and DIG Nalaka de Silva.

Meanwhile, the Court ordered yesterday to produce the Indian national who was arrested at Namal Kumara’s Warakapola home to a psychiatrist and submit a report.

The CID informed the court that the arrested Indian national will be detained for three months and will be questioned about his links to the VIP assassination plot.

Meanwhile, Sinhale Jathika Sanvidhanaya complained to the CID and police department today.

President of the organization Dan Priyasath stated in his complaint that Namal Kumara and DIG Nalaka de Silva should be arrested with immediate effect.

Meanwhile, IGP Pujith Jayasundera faced the three-member committee appointed by the Law and Order Ministry to investigate the allegations levelled against him today.

Addressing a media conference held at the UNP headquarters, Sirikotha today, Law and Order Deputy Minister, Nalin Bandara said that this committee will investigate all the allegations against the IGP including obtaining cheques by him.
