The met department states that the Prevailing showery condition is expected to enhance over the island during tomorrow.

Showers or thundershowers will occur over most parts of the island particularly after 2.00p.m.

Duty Meteorologist Sachintha Jayasekara stated that Heavy falls about 100 mili meters can be expected at some places in the Eastern, Southern, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva and Western provinces.

Meanwhile, the National Disaster Management Centre said that while the death toll due to inclement weather had gone up to seven, the number of people affected has exceeded one million.

National Disaster Management Centre assistant Director Pradeep Kodippili said that the water level of Nilvalaa, Kalu, Ging rivers and the Attanagalu Oya was now receding.
