The Met department forecasts the existing rain to be intensified today and tomorrow.

The highest rainfall of 110.5 millimetres during the last 24 hours ended at 8.30 this morning was reported from Maradankadawala and Ranorawa in the Anuradhapura district.

Meanwhile, Irrigation Department states that minor floods have developed at Millakanda in Kaluganga and Baddegama in Ginganga.
