After questioning the Former DIG attached to the Terrorism Investigation Division, Nalaka de Silva for several hours the CID has summoned him for questioning tomorrow as well.

He was summoned to make a statement in connection with the alleged plot to assassinate President Maithripala Sirisena and former defence secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.

A CID spokesman told our news team that former DIG Nalaka de Silva arrived at the police at 9.30 am today.

On the previous occasion, DIG Nalaka de Silva failed to report to the CID saying that his child was sick.

Meanwhile, DIG Nalaka de Silva has been questioned over the alleged plot to assassinate President Maithripala Sirisena and former defence secretary, Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and releasing two weapons without entering it in the log book.

The alleged assassination plot was exposed for the first time by operation director of the Anti Corruption Brigade Namal Kumara on September 12.

He released a telephone conversation connected to the plot and, later, the Government analyst authenticated the voice cuts on the telephone conversation between DIG Nalaka de Silva and Namal Kumara.

Following CID investigations, DIG Nalaka de Silva was interdicted and he and Namal Kumara were banned from travelling overseas by the Colombo Fort Magistrate.
