Private buses plying between Colombo and Ambilipitiya have staged a strike in protest of assaulting a bus conductor.

Our correspondent stated that the strikers are demanding the authorities to implement the law against the attackers.

Another bus conductor employed by a Moneragala bus had unleashed this assault at the Bastian Mawatha Private Bus station last Saturday.

The victim has been admitted to Colombo National hospital.

Meanwhile, taxi drivers have launched a protest in front of the Lotus Pond Theatre in protest of not revising taxi fares after the fuel price increase.
