Opposition Leader, R Sampandan has had discussions with Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa at his official residence in Wijerama Mawatha this morning.

Later, TNA media spokesman, MP, M.A Sumanthiran stated that the Opposition Leader requested the Premier to recall parliament without delay and show the majority.

Meanwhile, TNA MPs have been summoned to Colombo today to discuss the current political situation.

At the same time, our news team enquired MP Sumanthiran whether the Opposition leader would be changed as the composition of the house has changed following the SLFP quit the unity government.

MP Dallas Alahapperuma says that the Opposition Leader position would not be removed from the TNA.

Addressing a media conference held at the office of the new prime minister, he said that the fuel price formula introduced by the former minister, Mangala Samaraweera would not be implemented from next month.
