President Maithripala Sirisena said that the new government has already acquired 113 seats in parliament to show its majority.

Addressing the UPFA public rally this afternoon, President Sirisena reiterated that he would not revert his forward march in fear of any intimidating forces.

Addressing the same really, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa said that he is ready to work together with the President for the development and well-being of the people.

A large number of party supporters arrived in Colombo from around the country to participate in the rally held near the parliament roundabout.

It is more significant to see President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister, Mahinda Rajapaksa sharing the same political stage today.

The president further said that he requested speaker Karu Jayasuriya and UNP Deputy Leader, Sajith Premadasa to take over the Prime Minister position.
