The Deputy Secretary General of Parliament, Neil Iddawela says that his staff is compelled to perform their duties according to the Gazette issued by the President.

Speaking to our news team, he said that his office has not yet received instructions with regard to the parliament session to be held on November 14.

In addition, Sergeant of Arms also stated that he is also compelled to act according to the Gazette issued by the president.

Earlier, it was scheduled to convene parliament on November 16th but the president brought it forward to November 14th later.

Meanwhile, Western Development and Megapolis Minister, Dinesh Gunawardena said it is futile to talk about the previous government and its prime minister as both are now defunct.
