Several political parties and civil organizations have decided to head tothe  Supreme Court today to voice their opposition to the move made by the president to dissolve parliament.

The UNP, JVP and the Muslim Congress stated yesterday that they would file their petitions against the dissolution today.

In addition, the All Ceylon People’s Congress and the TNA are also scheduled to head to court for the same reason.

Political parties and civil organizations are preparing to petition the Supreme Court to issue an order stating that the dissolution of Parliament by the President is a violation of the 19th constitutional amendment and that it is illegal.
