According to a report by Jerusalem Post Thirteen Sri Lankan have been imprisoned in Israel for two weeks and deprived of rights,.

Following questioning at Ben-Gurion Airport, in the absence of a translator and with one member of the group speaking on behalf of them all, the 11 men and two women were taken to the Yahalom detention facility.

Reports state that they were forbidden to make phone calls, denied access to their own belongings and could not change clothes.

In addition, they were denied access to medication.

The 13 reportedly fled to Israel on tourist visas after having received threats, and planned to apply for asylum in Israel.
