MPs Navin Dissanayake, Ravi Karunanayake, Nalaka Prasad Kolonne, Kavinda Jayawardana, Hector Appuhamy and Chathura Senanayake have handed over this letter citing that the Prime Minister’s secretary, has no such powers, as a no-confidence motion was passed against Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.

In addition, another group of UNP MPs has filed a motion citing that no payment should be paid to ministers, deputy and state ministers and their private staff as a no-confidence motion is passed against the government.

Their motion further states that the new government should not pay for local or overseas travel made by ministers, deputies, state ministers and their staff.
