Parliament is scheduled to meet again at 1 this afternoon.

It has been decided to once again close off the public gallery and the Speaker’s Special Invitees’ gallery during todays session.

Sergeant-at-arms, Narendra Fernando said that admission into the parliament gallery would only be open to journalists.

Both the public gallery and the Speaker’s Special Invitees’ gallery were closed off during last Monday and Fridays sessions.

media will however have the opportunity to broadcast live, during today’s parliament session proceedings.

Last Friday the Government party left the chambers during parliamentary session in protest against the Speaker’s conduct.

However, MP Ranjith de Soyza told our news team that the decision on whether to participate or refrain from attending today’s parliamentary session would be decided on at the group meeting to be held at midday today.
