The debate on the proposal presented in parliament today for pruning the expenses of MPs and Ministers has by now ended.

122 voted in favour of the proposal and the parliamentary session was adjourned till 10.30 a.m. on 5th OF December.

Meanwhile a motion presented by the United National Party to cut the expenditure of the Prime Minister’s Office was passed in Parliament yesterday with 123 votes.

While the government party parliamentary groups held the meeting prior to the commencement of the parliamentary session today, leader of the house Minister Dinesh Gunawardhana expressing his views subsequently said that they would boycott the parliamentary meeting today.
