Nimal Siripala wants severe punishments for railway vandals

Transport and Civil Aviation Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva said that stern action should be taken against the railway vandalists.

He was participating in unloading a power-set with 9 compartments and a Diesel Electric engine worth 93.6 million US dollars imported from India at the Colombo port today.

Meanwhile, the chief guard of Yaldevi Express received injuries when several compartments of the train, detached near Irattaperiyakulam in Vavuniya today.

Anuradhapura Train Control stated later that an investigation has been initiated on the incident.
