The hearing of the petitions filed by 13 factions challenging the dissolution of parliament by the President was adjourned for tomorrow this afternoon.

The petitions were taken before the seven-member judge panel at 10 am today and it will be heard until this Thursday.

The factions of petitioners made preliminary submissions today and the interim petitioner will be allowed to make submission tomorrow.

Among the petitioners are United National party, Tamil National Alliance, Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna and the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress.

Earlier, the Supreme Court issued an interim order preventing the implementation of the Gazette issued by the President to dissolve parliament until December 7th.

Meanwhile, our correspondent said that only the routine security arrangement could be seen around the Supreme Court this morning.
