The three-judge panel which heard the Appeal filed by former president Mahinda Rajapaksa has unanimously decided not to change the Quo Warrantor Writ issued on him and his cabinet of ministers today.

The Appeal was considered by Supreme Court judges, Eva Wanasundera, Buwaneka Aluvihare and Vijith Malalgoda.

However, the majority bench recommended to take the petition before a special court on January 16, 17 and 18th.

Our court reporter stated that Justice Vijith Malalgoda objected to the decision.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa requested in his appeal to overrule the Interim Injunction issued by the Court of Appeal which has prevented him and his cabinet of ministers from functioning in their positions.
