3 Non Cabinet Ministers, 17 State Ministers and 7 Deputy Ministers were sworn in before President Maithripala Sirisena last evening.

This was at the President’s Secretariat.

Harsha de Silva was sworn in as Minister of Economic Reform and Public Distribution, Ajith P. Perera took oaths as Minister of Digital Infrastructure and Information Technology while Sujeewa Senasinghe was sworn in as Minister of Science, Technology, and Research.

State Ministers sworn in are as follows.

Ranjan Ramanyake – Highways and Road Development

Vijayakala Maheshvaran – Education

J.C. Alawathuwala – Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government

Eran Wickramaratne – Minister Finance

Ranjith Aluvihare – Tourism Development

Wasantha Aluvihare – Agriculture, Irrigation and Rural Economic Affairs

Lucky Jayawardene – City Planning and Water management

Niroshan Perera – national Policies and Economic affairs

Ruwan Wijeywardene – Defense

Champika Premadasa – Power and Renewable energy

Ashoka Abeysinghe – Transport and Civil Aviation

Faizal Cassim – Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine

H.M.M. Haris – Provincial Councils and Local Government

Ameer Ali – Agriculture, Irrigation and Rural Economic Affairs

Dilip Wedarachchi – Fishing and Aquatic Resources Development

A.Z.M. Zayeed – Social Empowerment

Vadiwel Suresh – Plantation

7 Deputy Ministers were also sworn in.

Anoma Gamage – Petroleum resources development

Edward Gunasekara – Land and Parliamentary reforms

Nalin Bandara – Development Strategies and International Trade

Ajith Mannaperuma – Environment

Karunarathna Paranavithana – Vocational Training and Skills Development

Buddika Pathirana – Industry and Commerce

Palitha Theweraperuma – Social Empowerment.

It is noteworthy that none of the SLFP Members who defected to the government have been given any positions.
