Today is the 6th day for the protests trade unions have launched against not taking action to reinstate P.S. M. Charles who had served as Customs Director General back to that post.

Meanwhile the Container Transporters’ Union and Warf Clerks have decided to boycott work tomorrow in support of the trade union action Customs Trade Unions have commenced.

In addition, Essential Food Item Importers and Whole Sale Traders’ Union media spokesman, Hemaka Fernando said that action would be taken to close the  Pettah Food Item Whole Sale shops tomorrow.

That is by way of expressing that they have been severely inconvenienced as a result of the trade union action the Customs Trade Unions have launched.
