Police Commission calls for a report on the Rathgama incident from the IGP

The National Police Commission has requested , from the IGP,  a report on the full investigation carried out on the disappearance of two businessmen from Rathgama.

Commission Chairman, PH Manathunga told our news team that the commission has expressed its concerns pertaining to the ongoing investigations.

the CID stated that it is still recording statements from the two police officers and a civil person suspected to be involved in the abduction.

Meanwhile, the Senior DIG in charge of the Southern province, Ravi Wijegunawardana has been transferred following the incident.

the CID stated that the vehicle allegedly used in the abduction has been taken into police custody.

investigations continue to seize another vehicle believed to have been used in the abduction.

Police stated that more attention has been drawn to statements submitted  by several eyewitnesses.

31-year old Rasin Chinthaka and 33-year old Manjula Asela of Rathna Udagama in Boossa were abducted on January 23rd.

Meanwhile, the wife of one of the victims received an anonymous letter stating that both businessmen had been murdered.
