Presidential Commission probe into 3.8 billion rupee fraud in procuring medications to treat cancer

The Presidential Commission has launched an investigation looking into a complaint that a 3.8 billion rupee fraud had taken place at Maharagama Cancer Hospital,  during the procurement of two types of medications used for cancer treatment

The Sri Lanka Small and Medium level entrepreneurs’ union lodged this complaint against the Sri Lanka Pharmaceutical Corporation.

The Presidential Commission met yesterday with retired supreme court judge Upali Abeyratne at the chair.

On this occasion the commission said that investigations have commenced.
