The number of deaths in the shootings that took place at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand has increased to 49.

Another 48 have sustained injuries and it is said that 20 of them are in a critical condition.

Four persons including a woman have been taken into custody in connection with the incident and it is said that one is an Australian national.

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said that the Australian arrested is a right-wing extremist.

The Bangladesh Cricket team had just arrived in a bus at one of the mosques where the shooting took place and was preparing to enter when the attack commenced.

Anyhow the entire team had escaped unhurt and reached their hotel safely.

However, the third and final test Bangladesh was to play against New Zealand starting tomorrow has been cancelled as a result of this incident.
