The report by UN Human Rights High Commissioner Michelle Bachelet on Sri Lanka was presented at the 40th session of the UN Human Rights Council, today. The report by the High Commissioner pointed on the importance of Promoting reconciliation, accountability and human rights in Sri Lanka.

 Meanwhile, expressing his views, regarding the report, Foreign Minister Thilak Marapana stated that there are discrepancies in the report and there are some points which he cannot agree with. 


Meanwhile, UN Human Rights High Commissioner Michelle Bachelet while speaking at the council sessions stated that she recommends the government of Sri Lanka to extend an invitation to establish a fully-fledged country office to advice on the implementations of the recommendations made.
