Considering of evidence by the President’s Commission appointed for inquiring into corruption and irregularities that had occurred in Government Institutions during 2015 to 2018 begins today.

A commission spokesman said that under this Health Ministry Assistant Secretary Rohana de Silva has been notified to appear before the commission  at 9 a.m. today for providing a statement regarding an irregularity alleged to have occurred in supplying medicines to the Apekshaa Hospital in Maharagama

While the deadline for receiving complaints to the commission appointed to inquire about corruption and irregularities that had occurred in government institutions during 2015-2018, was 19th of this month, the commission had received 1142 complaints.

A commission spokesman said that primary inquiry was being carried out regarding 48 of these complaints.

By now the commission has received complaints against a number of government institutions including the Government Pharmaceutical Corporation, Blood Bank, Petroleum Corporation, Sri Lankan Airline, Ceylon Electricity Board and the government Press.
