The power supply that was disrupted in a number of areas due to fall of trees on power supply lines has by now been brought back to normal.

The Power and Energy Ministry said that trees had thus fallen on electricity wires due to the windy condition along with heavy rains.

Due to this, Kottawa, Homagama, Pannipitiya, Padukka, Horana, Awissawella and Meepey experienced power failures.

However, Power and Energy Ministry media spokesman Sulakshana  Jayawardhana said that while power failure in several areas to which the Pannipitiya Transformer supplies electricity continues even now, steps are taken to restore power to these areas soon.
