Site seeing of leopard infested areas banned in Kumana

The leopards infested areas of Kumana National Park have been temporarily banned for visitors.

Curator of the park Sisira Kumara told our news team that this decision was taken after a labourer engaged in road construction was mauled by a leopard in this section of the park.

It is believed that about 30 to 40 leopards are currently roaming in Kumana National park.

Another person who injured in the leopard attack is receiving treatment in Ampara General Hospital.
