Isis has claimed responsibility for bombings that left more than 300 people dead in Sri Lanka.

In a statement released by its Amaq propaganda agency, the group said it was targeting citizens of countries bombings its territories and Christians.

Meanwhile, India had also provided “operational grade intelligence” to Sri Lanka on an imminent attack by the National Thowheed Jamath on April 4th.

The officials said Indian security agencies had alerted Sri Lanka that another NTJ team led by Jal al-Quital alias Rilwan Marzag could carry out more attacks.

Noufar Moulvi, brother-in-law of Hashim, recently returned to Sri Lanka from Qatar and had taken charge of the group.

On 21 April when the attacks took place, a video where seven persons including Abu Ubaida appeared has been posted on the Al Guraba Social Media Page which supports the I.S. Terrorist organization.

A caption in the video read “This bloody day is our reward to you”

Abu Ubaida who appears first in the video has his face uncovered but the seven others have their faces covered.
