Makandure Madush in custody after been deported; Operation carried out by a Team of CID Officers

Underworld Kingpin Makandure Madush who was arrested upon arriving in the island was brought to the CID Headquarters in Colombo.

Madush who was in custody of Dubai Authorities was deported to Sri Lanka and landed at the Bandaranayake International Airport at 5 this morning.

31 persons including Madush were arrested at a party in Dubai on the 5th of February this year.

Samarasinghe Arachchilage Madush Lakshitha alias Makandure Madush was wanted for several crimes including murders.

Madush had travelled using a passport issued under the name Warnakulasuriya Ajith Eranga, residing in Gampaha.

It had been issued on the 30th of April 2015.

It was revealed that a group of Officers of the CID had travelled to Dubai and managed to bring him down to the country.

Due to an appeal submitted to Dubai Courts by Madush seeking his deportation to Sri Lanka be blocked, Diplomatic Channels had to be used to gain custody of him.
